What app is used with the glasses and is it required?

The app you want is called Ear Dance (Android / iOS). This app grants access to multiple features including access to multiple software features like AI Chat Bot and Voice Notes (aka Audio Transcription) and also grants support for 163 additional languages.

Most importantly, it grants the functionality of conversational real-time translation.
Basically, it transforms your phone to act as the translator and is what makes the glasses talk for you, so yes, we highly recommend installing it!

How do I get started using these glasses and the app?

Steps to Get Started

  1. Start by charging your new glasses using the included charging cable. Note that this product does not come with a wall plug. You'll need one with a USB connection.
  2. While it's charging, download the Ear Dance app (Android / iOS) on your mobile phone and open it.
  3. Enable Bluetooth on your phone if it isn't already enabled.
  4. Once your glasses are finished charging, close the glasses, then reopen it. You should hear, "Power On", followed by "Pairing."
  5. On your smartphone, connect to W100 in your Bluetooth device list.

At this point, you're ready to receive phone calls and play music. Huzzah! Let's continue to setup the app so you can experience real-time translations.

Initial App Setup

  1. Make sure you've gone through the initial setup steps outlined in the previous FAQ question above!
  2. Open the EarDance app on your smartphone.
  3. If prompted to login or register, you can skip this by tapping on Skip at the top right of the screen.
  4. On the home screen, tap on +Connect, then tap on Allow when prompted.
  5. If prompted again, tap Allow again.
  6. It may prompt you to enter the Settings. Instead, you can tap on Cancel and return to the app home screen where the +Connect option is now gone.

Navigating the App

On the home screen you can scroll down a little to view all the key features of the app including:

  • AI Chat Bot
  • Translation Machine Mode
  • Glasses+Phone Mode
  • Voice Notes
  • Audio and Video Translation
  • Photo Translation

You can also tap on the icon at the top right of the screen to enter the Quick Start menu. Swipe left on the top menu bar to see all the features.

Tap on the < icon at the top left to return to the home screen. Now you can tap on any feature to be presented with instructions on how to use the feature. As always, we're here to help if you have any trouble!

Are the translations always accurate?

Our AI smart glasses support 163 languages and deliver fast, real-time translations. While no AI is perfect, they handle conversations, menus, signs, and meetings with impressive accuracy—and software updates keep improving performance over time.

Can I change the lens for prescription lenses?

You absolutely can, though it's not recommended that you do it yourself! Pay a visit to your optometrist and let them take care of installing your prescription lenses into these frames.
